VELOCITY URGENT CARE VALUES VETERANS

WILLIAMSBURG, Va., August 20, 2019 – Velocity Urgent Care has achieved V3 certification by the Virginia Dept. of Veterans Services. Launched in 2012, the V3 (Virginia Values Veterans) program encourages companies to recruit, hire, train and retain Veterans.

We are proud to be a V3 certified employer,” explains Velocity Urgent Care CEO Alan Ayers. “Many of our doctors, physicians assistants, and nurse practitioners come from a military background. Their experience gives them a great appreciation for and sensitivity to the needs of fellow veterans and their families.”

Dr. Dan Naumann, Assistant Medical Director and head of Velocity’s Williamsburg location, is among those who have and continue to serve in the military. His experience makes him well attuned to the needs of his patients.  “While currently serving as a Flight Surgeon in the Air Force Reserve, I have intimately seen what our military members and their families experience in a wide range of life adventures—from  training, to deployment, to injuries, to family sacrifices, to reinsertion into the civilian world,” he said.

“When we see military service members and their families there is a common bond of understanding, often unspoken.  I strive to deliver care with the empathy and compassion they deserve, whether for a physical, emotional, or social problem.  They have spent years protecting our communities and I want them to feel safe and secure while receiving their medical care in the Velocity Urgent Care system.”

As employees, veterans bring a lot to the table, Naumann adds. “These men and women are highly-skilled and rapidly trainable, with a goal-oriented focus that translates incredibly well into the Virginia workplace,” he said. “We are proud to have them as part of our team.”
