Don’t let illness or injury sap your enjoyment of Williamsburg’s tourist attractions

Williamsburg is one of the most charming towns in the country. A perfect blend of colonial history with modern arts and attractions ensures that everyone will find something to love. Williamsburg’s array of attractions makes it great for families, couples, or anyone that wants to enjoy the spring weather. A visit to Williamsburg means fun for the whole family no matter how you choose to spend your time.

Colonial Williamsburg

The name says it all. Williamsburg was one of the most influential settlements in the time of the colonies and the Revolutionary War. It served as the capital of Virginia for over 80 years and was the center of major political events. Colonial Williamsburg lets you step back in time over 300 hundred years and witness what life was like in 18th-century America. See the real buildings that shaped our nation’s history, preserved to be how they were in the 1700’s. Witness as skilled craftsmen practice trades from long ago like blacksmithing, shoemaking, and tailoring, all in the old-fashioned way of the colonists. Accurate reenactments let you witness life, battles, and history in real life. Colonial Williamsburg is a must-see attraction for anyone making a stop in Williamsburg.

Busch Gardens

For the thrill seekers, Williamsburg plays host to one of the most exciting amusement parks in the country: Busch Gardens. Opening March 24th, the theme park has something for everyone of all ages. The Alpengeist, Apollo’s Chariot, and Griffon are high-thrill coasters that will make your heart skip a beat. Escape from Pompeii and Le Scoot are fun log flume rides to cool off on the warmer spring days. New this spring is the Battle for Eire 360° virtual reality adventure that lets you ride a dragon and battle to save Ireland’s magic. For the kids, Kinder Karussel, Sesame Street Forest of Fun and a scenic train ride will make the day special. Along with the rides there are Broadway style plays, delicious foods, and more! There’s fun to be had for the whole family at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, constantly dubbed “the world’s most beautiful theme park”.

William & Mary Baseball

The College of William & Mary is the second oldest in the country and was chartered in 1693. Its historic campus features an NCAA Division I baseball team every spring. The William & Mary Tribe promises exciting and affordable ballpark action for the whole family. Their home stadium, Plumeri Park, has seating for just 1000 fans meaning that you’ll be up close to the action no matter what. The Tribe have sent over 40 players to the major leagues since the MLB Draft began in 1965, so you’ll get to see top college talent. If you’re visiting Williamsburg in the spring, an afternoon or evening at the ballpark with the William & Mary Tribe is sure to be a memorable time.

Seasonal Events

Springtime in Williamsburg means a calendar full of fun events. As the weather warms up in the spring, the town and area around it comes alive with cultural, arts, and entertainment festivals. To celebrate Easter, the Yankee Candle Village has two weekends full of fun on March 24th and 31st. You’ll find 45,000 square feet of fun, interactive shopping with over 200 scents of candles as well as Wax World where kids can have fun with the moldable material. From April 14-15 Colonial Williamsburg hosts the 72nd Annual Garden Symposium, a showcase of garden and home you don’t want to miss. From April 10-22 you can treat your taste buds to the Williamsburg Taste Festival and explore the fine culinary arts. For even more events, check out https://www.visitwilliamsburg.com/events.
