“The response of the South Boston community has been nothing short of welcoming,” said Alan Ayers, Chief Executive Officer. “In the past people have had to drive 30 miles or more to Danville, Lynchburg or North Carolina for urgent care. Not only are we bringing a care option to South Boston, but we are keeping jobs in the community.”

Patients can just walk-in or reserve their spot online at https://velocityuc.com or just walk in.  “What differentiates Velocity Urgent Care is our speed and quality,” said Gregory Biernacki, MD, Chief Medical Officer.  “The center offers amenities like complementary Wi-Fi, snacks and beverages, although most patients in/out in less than 45 minutes.”

The center is open 8:00am to 8:00pm Monday through Friday; 8:00am to 5:00pm Saturday; and 1:00pm to 5:00pm on Sundays.   Patients who require additional care can be assisted with access to the Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital, local specialists, or referred back to their primary care physician, as requested.
