Velocity Urgent Care continues to urge the community to seek medical attention for non-COVID-19-related illnesses/injuries

WILLIAMSBURG, Va., July 27, 2020 – Velocity Urgent Care continues to urge the community to seek medical attention for non-COVID-19 related illnesses and injuries. A minor condition today can lead to serious and costlier treatment if left ignored. Patients who register online will receive text message updates to let patients know the estimated time to be seen. The ability to register online helps reduce contact in the center, so patients don’t have to handle paper or use a shared kiosk. Velocity Urgent Care has expanded its weekend hours to offer more convenient access to patients needing immediate care for non-emergent illnesses and injuries.

All Velocity Urgent Care locations offer no-appointment-necessary visits with licensed providers for treatment of minor illnesses and injuries and all non-COVID-19 related illnesses and injuries.

“Since March, our providers and staff have shown a warrior spirit, tireless resolve, and servants’ heart in providing no-hassle COVID-19 services for over 50,000 patients,” states Alan Ayers, CEO of Velocity Urgent Care. “No hassle means no appointment, no referral, no tele-screening, no self-swabbing, no residency, no HMO membership, and no symptoms required. Our team is going above and beyond the call of duty to take care of all our patients during this unprecedented time.”

The Hampton Roads-based urgent care provider has been on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic since the virus hit Virginia. Velocity clinicians have performed more COVID-19 and antibody tests than any other provider in its Hampton Roads, Northern, and Southern Virginia communities and are committed to serving the community with free access to COVID-19 care for all.

Velocity Urgent Care utilizes stringent sanitation and infection control procedures while also following CDC Infection Control guidelines in their cleaning regimens.

Services include digital X-rays and lab capabilities on-site. Most insurance is accepted, and there is a self-pay option for those without insurance. In addition, Velocity’s partnership with Sentara Healthcare enables referrals and data-sharing with more than 3,900 Sentara specialists and primary care providers. Velocity Urgent Care also supports area employers with Workers' Compensation injury care; fit-for-duty, new hire, and compliance physicals; as well as drug screening conducted at Velocity or at the employer’s place of business.
