While Colonial Williamsburg is open year-round, Christmastime is one of the best to visit. There is no shortage of charming decorations on the historic buildings throughout the village. Swing by to see one of the two new Christmas theater productions: “Christmas Voyage Home” or “Christmas with the Washingtons.” While you’re there, fill up with 18th-century-style food and drink while celebrating with historical residents at the Raleigh Tavern.

Historical, festive fun
Enjoy twinkling, colorful Christmas lights? Then Christmas Town is the place to be this holiday season. With over 10 million lights to celebrate the festival’s 10th anniversary, Busch Gardens Williamsburg has become a winter wonderland. There is a holiday-themed train ride, festive food and drink, and lots of unique shopping to check out while taking in the lights. Don’t forget about the many heart-warming shows that bring the spirit of Christmas to life.

Dazzling fun for the whole family
If you can’t get enough of the Christmas season, then never fear. Christmas Mouse is Williamsburg’s very own year-round Christmas store. The 10,000-square-foot holiday emporium certainly has anything Christmas-themed that you can think of. Whether you’re looking for ornaments, stockings, or Williamsburg-themed gear, Christmas Mouse has it all. Stop into their festive store to check out all the holiday goodness.

For those who love ice skating, and for those who would rather just watch, Liberty’s Ice Pavilion is a can’t-miss event. This seasonal outdoor skating rink is sure to bring anyone into the Christmas spirit. Don’t have skates? No problem. You can rent some at the rink for a small fee. If you don’t want to take a turn on the ice, you can still enjoy a steaming cup of American Heritage Hot Chocolate or a Chowning’s hot cider while listening to holiday music from local choirs and ensembles.
