VELOCITY URGENT CARE NOW OFFERS EMPLOYER HEALTH SERVICES

WILLIAMSBURG, Va., July 17, 2019 – Velocity Urgent Care (https://velocityuc.com) is now offering occupational health services to employers at each of its 14 facilities throughout eastern Virginia. Their certified and trained staff is knowledgeable about the various aspects of occupational medicine and dedicated to developing a program that reduces workplace injuries, time away from work and total cost of a claim. Services offered include employee physical examinations, workers’ compensation injury care, substance abuse testing, vaccination and immunization programs.  Velocity locations are equipped with specialized equipment including breath alcohol testing, audiometry, spirometry, and digital x-ray. Most Velocity providers are certified to perform Department of Transportation (DOT) examinations and they partner with physical therapists to conduct functional capacity examinations.

Occupational medicine services are offered to an array of industries including food processing, preparation and service; durable and non-durable goods manufacturing; petroleum, chemical, iron/steel and coal; trucking, distribution and warehousing; public and private transportation; police, fire, schools and other municipal services; hospitals, outpatient and long-term care facilities, and general merchandise retailers.

“Occupational health is a critical part of the services we offer at Velocity Urgent Care,” says Alan Ayers, Chief Executive Officer. “We work directly with employers to develop and maintain programs that ensure workplace safety and compliance with government regulations. We can easily customize a program or service to meet an employer’s needs.”

Employers who are interested in utilizing Velocity for their employees can schedule an appointment with a Velocity Urgent Care sales expert. They will assess a company’s specific needs and create a “protocol” in their system which will instruct their staff on the services and reporting required for each employer. Employees can then come for services with an employer’s authorization in hand and Velocity will report the results back to the employer in a timely manner. Direct billing arrangements are available for employers.

All Velocity Urgent Care locations are open 7 days a week.  Employee physicals are performed during regular business hours. Walk-ins are accepted, but scheduling a visit is recommended to ensure that a certified medical examiner is available. For more information visit https://velocityuc.com.
